Happy Halloween!

A big thanks to Nana Jones for Justin's outfit and to Grandma Parsons for his sleeper!

Back to Work

Well, today was the day I returned to work...after being at home for 8 weeks with Justin. Many mixed emotions were running through me, but I was brave and didn't shed one tear! Here are a few pics of our last day together before I went back to work and my first day of work. It was so good to hold him after being away from him all day!

Happy Birthday Winston!

Today Winston turned 4 years old...not sure how old that is in doggie years?!?! We tried to make his day special by saying his favorite phrase - "Wanna go for a ride?" and taking him to Petco to get a new toy and treats. He had a blast getting out of the house and receiving so much attention.

Like Father, Like Son

Jason is the PERFECT daddy and does such a good job with Justin...even when he's crying his head off! He's been able to enjoy many of the "firsts" with our son - first to hold him, change his diaper, change his clothes, and feed him with a bottle. You can tell from the pictures that they share many similarities! (Same love for the Yankees, sleeping in the recliner, same feet, and same taste in clothing!!!)

7 Weeks Old

As Justin continues to grow, I am constantly in awe of how much God has blessed our family. We have a healthy baby, a roof over our heads, food to eat, and jobs to provide for our needs. It's the little things in life that I never want to take for granted. These past 7 weeks have taught me so much - a love that cannot be explained, selflessness, and forgiveness. It's amazing how the Lord can teach you these things through a child!

Okay...here's a quick explanation on some of these pictures. Justin is still not sleeping in his crib because he's not sleeping through the night, but I'm trying to get him used to napping in it so that the transition won't scare him too much. He's still sleeping in the pack-n-play in our room, so that I don't have to walk up and down stairs at 2 AM!!!!! The second pic shows him sleeping in the stroller. Walking through the neighborhood is part of our morning routine. Happy 7 Weeks Justin!

6 Weeks Old

With each new day, we are truly amazed and feel so blessed to be raising this precious baby boy. So much has happened in the past week. Justin is full of energy...keeping his head up for minutes at a time, pushing himself up while laying on his play mat, and staying up for longer periods during the day. Justin continues to make us laugh with his "funny faces" and adore him with his "sweet looks." It's hard to believe that he's already 6 weeks old!
Check out my kicks!

More Pics

We're having so much fun dressing up our little man and taking pictures. These were too precious not to pass along. Hope you enjoy...

I wonder why he's laughing at me?

5 Weeks Old

Today Justin turned 5 weeks old, so guess what we did to celebrate? We had our first outing at Wal-mart...just the two of us! Fun...huh?!?! And of course I had to dress him up for the occasion. Jason and I are having a blast getting to know our little man. One thing's for sure...he's already spoiled rotten!!! I want to thank everyone who has given me such great advice over the past several weeks...without each of you, I'd be totally lost!

Fun Filled Days

Here are a few things Justin likes to do during the day...

Play...he loves to lay on his play mat!
Sleep...the swing works every time!
Smile...it's probably just gas!
Eat...Daddy finally gets to feed me!

Home Sweet Home

As many of you know, we began building our new house in early March but didn't expect our old house to sell as quickly as it did. With the market so slow, we were SO blessed to have our house move so fast. But there was a slight problem...our new house wasn't ready. We have 2 extremely gracious families who allowed us to live with them for a total of 9 weeks!!!! Thank you so much to the Tafaoa and Jackson families...you guys rock! We began getting very anxious in July when we were told we didn't have a closing date, due to the fact that our little one was on the way. But praise God-we moved into our new home on August 10, 2007...just 3 weeks before Justin was born! It's a great neighborhood and we're happy to call Waterleaf home!

Mr. Winston

Our family wouldn't be complete without adding some pictures of Mr. Winston. For those of you who have met him, you know that he rules the household! He doesn't quite know what to think of Justin. I think Winston will be happy when Justin is old enough to play with him.

Tummy Trouble?

In case you're ever having tummy trouble, try the dryer...worked for Justin!!!!

4 Weeks Old

We can't believe it...our precious baby boy is 4 weeks old today! It's amazing to see how much he's grown and changed in such a short time frame. Can't wait for all of you to meet him!
Big Brother Winston would be proud!

A Blog...Finally!

A good friend encouraged me to set up a blog when I was pregnant, but I kept putting it off. Now that Justin has arrived, Jason and I want a place where our family and friends can stay updated. Here's a brief update on what's happened in the last 4 weeks. My doctor advised us to schedule a C-section because the baby's head was measuring larger than his due date and my pelvic bone. So the big day was scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 4th! Jason and I arrived at St. Vincent's hospital at 8 AM, both a little nervous...not knowing what to expect. After a lot of paperwork and bloodwork, we were taken up to the labor and delivery floor. At 1:15 PM, Justin Blake Parsons arrived weighing 7 lb. 3 oz and 20 1/2" long. He was a true miracle from God! The surgery went extremely well and the recovery has been much better than we expected. Jason is such an amazing daddy...he was changing diapers and cloths before I could even get out of bed. A big thank you to everyone who came to visit us at the hospital and once we got home. We are truly grateful to our parents, who were able to share our little bundle of joy once we got home. Mom...I truly appreciate the extra time you were able to spend here and for all your help around the house!
